The University Clinic is your dedicated partner in promoting the health and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff. Our mission is to provide comprehensive and compassionate healthcare services to support the overall success and vitality of the university community.

University Clinic: The University has in its employment a Chief Medical Officer and a number of Medical and Nursing personnel who are always available and on call for emergencies. To facilitate medical attention, all new students must register with University Clinic soon after they have registered with the academic office. All students who are ill must report to the University Clinic. If it becomes necessary for a student to receive medical treatment outside the University Clinic this must be reported to the University Authority at the earliest opportunity.

Lassa Fever Information

Signs of Lassa Fever:

Fever
Headache
Sore throat
Muscle pain
Chest pain
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
Abdominal pain
Hemorrhaging (in severe cases)

Prevention Steps:

Keep your environment clean and free from rodents.
Avoid eating food that has been contaminated by rodents.
Store food items in rodent-proof containers.
Seal up cracks and holes in your home to prevent entry of rodents.
Set up traps to catch and remove rodents from your environment.
Wash your hands regularly with soap and water.
Avoid contact with blood, urine, or feces of infected rodents.
Seek medical attention if you suspect you have been exposed to Lassa fever.

Avoid contact with blood or body fluids of a person who is sick with Ebola.
Do not handle items that may have come in contact with an infected person's blood or body fluids.
Avoid funeral or burial rituals that require handling the body of someone who has died from Ebola.
Wash hands frequently with soap and water.
Use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
Wear personal protective equipment if you are caring for someone with Ebola.
Isolate individuals suspected or confirmed to have Ebola.
Follow public health advice and guidelines for Ebola containment and prevention.
